We work hard to maintain an excellent staff of doctors, receptionists, technicians and assistants. Our staff is a close-knit group, and has been carefully chosen to provide the best care for your pet. All staff members participate in continuing education programs. Most have special interests or areas of expertise within the practice. All, of course have pets of their own. We’re glad you’ve chosen us as your pet’s health care team.
Ryan Steen, DVM graduated from the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2000. Dr. Steen worked at Frey Pet Hospital long before his graduation, working as a kennel staff member during the summers and winter breaks.
Jennifer Feuerbach DVM joined the Frey Pet Hospital team in 2004. Dr. Feuerbach grew up in rural northeast Nebraska and chose to pursue her education at Iowa State where she received her Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degrees.
Preston Ayers, DVM joined Frey Pet Hospital after graduating from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011.
Heather Kingus, DVM, originally from Waterloo, practiced for four years in Naperville, Illinois before joining Frey Pet Hospital in 2006.
Kathy Koopman, DVM joined Frey Pet Hospital in 1996, after practicing veterinary medicine in Arizona for a number of years.
Morgan Ryherd, DVM joined Frey Pet Hospital after graduating from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2020.
Brent Reimer, DVM, DACVS-SA, was born and raised in Dubuque, Iowa. He attended the University of Iowa for his undergraduate studies where he double majored in biology and botany. He then received his veterinary degree in 1999 from Iowa State University and..
Amie Roberts, originally from Waterloo, graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Biology and International Studies in 2009. She started her career in emergency veterinary medicine in 2010 and graduated from ISU College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015.
As a Registered Veterinary Technician, Amy has been a team member since 2002. She graduated from Kirkwood Community College in 2004 as a Registered Veterinary Technician.
Amanda is a Board Certified Veterinary Anesthetist and a Registered Veterinary Technician.
Alicia came to Frey's in 2018 as an intern in the Registered Veterinary Technician program at Kirkwood Community College. Alicia has always had a passion for animals, which shows in the quality of care that she provides to our patients.
Chelsea has been at Frey Pet Hospital since 2014. She graduated from The University of Northern Iowa in 2011 and Kirkwood’s Veterinary Technician Program in 2015.
Meet Amanda, one of our Veterinary Technicians since 2018. Amanda has always had a passion for animals, this passion dates back as far as she can remember.
As a Registered Veterinary Technician Chantal joined the team in 2007. Chantal enjoys learning new treatment methods and the latest technology.
Scott has been an integral part of Frey Pet Hospital since 1996. Scott graduated from Kirkwood Community college in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and also graduated from Capella University in Network Administration.
Hola! Let us introduce you to Kathy, a veterinary assistant who has been in the Frey Pet Hospital family since 2010. Being half Mexican and half Salvadorian, Kathy speaks fluent Spanish and enjoys the opportunity to translate. She can often be found zipping about the hospital helping out patients and teammates with a bright smile on her face!
Heidi has been in the veterinary field since 1999, when she began her veterinary assisting career. Heidi has been part of the Frey Pet Hospital team since 2012 and works in several areas of the hospital.
As one of our most tenured employees, Michele has been a part of the Frey family since 1984. Her long-standing relationship with our clients can be seen in the care she gives our patients.
Meet Jennifer, who has worked here at Frey Pet Hospital since 2001. In 2012 Jennifer became a Certified Laser Therapist.
Rob came to Frey's as an intern in 2018 through the Veterinary Assistant program at Kirkwood Community College.
Graduating from the assistant program at Kirkwood Community College in 2007, Mallory joined our team in 2012.
As a customer service representative and a technician assistant, Megan is one of our team members who can work in multiple areas.
Meet Chelsea! She is a dedicated staff member who has worked in many areas of the hospital. She currently is a veterinary assistant for the Frey Pet Hospital team and has proudly served us since 2007.
Meet Heather, one of our veterinary assistants here at Frey Pet Hospital. She has been part of our family since 2013. Having a long love for animals, Heather started in the animal care industry in 2006.
As a customer service representative, Joey has been greeting clients and patients since 1998.
For over 15 years Chris has worked for the Cedar Rapids DVM, looking for a change Chris found her opportunity here. Chris and her husband have been long standing clients of Frey Pet Hospital since 2014.
As a customer service representative, Alli has been greeting client and patients since 2017. Pictured are Charlie and Zoey, they are full of energy most days. Alli worked at the Cedar Valley Human Society before joining Frey Pet Hospital.
Dziendobry! Meet Magdalena, a member of the Frey team since 2013. She is from Warsaw, Poland and speaks fluent Polish. Magda is fabulously attentive to the needs of our patients, clients, and her co-workers. Magda has a strong work ethic and wants every one of our patients to be comfortable while in her care. Magda has three dogs, Mako, Ranger, Sage. She also has horses! “Working alongside some of the best veterinarians, assisting in caring for sick patients, and bringing them back to their owners happy and healthy once again is my favorite part of being at Frey Pet Hospital.” says Magda.
Kaley started working with animals in 2015, but has been around pets her whole life! Since coming to FPH in February of 2019, she has found the value of providing top notch care to the animals. She has a positive attitude and is always eager to learn more!
Carole has been in the veterinary field for many years, originally from Canada; she lives with her husband and daughter in Cedar Rapids. Carole has been part of the Frey Pet Hospital team since February, 2017.
After working in the human medical field, Christiane joined Frey Pet Hospital in 2015. However, prior to that we knew Christiane and her family as loyal clients, bringing their dear 11-year-old Beagle named Lucky to us for care.
Meet Faith, she has been part of our team since 2021. Originally from Wisconsin, Faith has been living in Iowa for the past 10 years.
Elliott started with Frey in January of 2022. He is studying to be a veterinary technician

Maria has been a part of the Frey Pet Hospital team since 2023. She graduated from the Kirkwood Veterinary Technician program.
Graduated tech school in 2019 from Muscatine Community College and became registered that same year. Was a clinical pathology teacher for several years teaching online veterinary technician students at San Juan College.
