Puppy Wellness
Welcome to the Frey Pet Family!
Congratulations on your new puppy! We’re honored to be part of this exciting journey with you. Our puppy wellness program sets the foundation for a healthy, well-mannered adult dog through thorough medical care and expert guidance.
We’ll help you navigate:
- Nutrition and feeding habits
- Training and behavior tips
- Socialization strategies
- Preventive care and vaccinations
Your puppy will visit us 3 to 4 times for an initial vaccine series. Each appointment includes a full physical exam, during which our veterinarian checks for congenital defects, vision and hearing issues, cleft palate, proper bite, hernias, and heart defects.
Your first visit is one hour long, giving us time for questions, introductions, and reviewing our new puppy slideshow.
Puppy Vaccinations Include:
- DHLPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus)
- Rabies (required by law, protects humans and pets alike)
- Bordetella (kennel cough prevention)
- Lyme (for dogs at high risk in wooded/grassland areas)
We look forward to meeting your newest family member!
Kitten Wellness
Purr-fect Beginnings for Your New Kitten
Bringing home a kitten? We’re here to support you with comprehensive wellness care that ensures your feline friend starts life on the right paw.
Our kitten wellness visits cover:
- Nutrition and feeding guidance
- Litterbox training support
- Behavioral insights
- Vaccination planning
Expect 2 to 3 visits during your kitten’s vaccine series, beginning at 8 weeks old and continuing every 3–4 weeks until 16 weeks. Your first visit is one hour long and includes a physical exam and a review of our helpful new kitten slideshow. We screen for congenital conditions, hearing and vision issues, cleft palate, hernias, and heart defects.
Kitten Vaccinations Include:
- Panleukopenia Virus (feline distemper, similar to canine parvovirus)
- Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis (respiratory disease)
- Calicivirus (another respiratory illness)
- Rabies (required by law)
- Feline Leukemia (for outdoor cats or at-risk environments)
We may also recommend FeLV and FIV testing based on your kitten’s age and exposure risk.
Adult Pet Wellness
Proactive Care for Every Year of Their Life
Annual wellness exams help us ensure your dog or cat stays healthy and detect conditions before they become serious. Pets age much faster than humans and often hide early symptoms of illness, making regular checkups critical.
Our adult wellness visits include:
- Full physical exam (nose to tail)
- Vital signs: pulse, respiration, temperature
- Vaccinations and parasite prevention
- Diagnostic testing (blood, fecal, urine)
- In-house lab results during your appointment
- Dental evaluations and recommendations
As your pet ages, we may perform more comprehensive testing to establish baselines and catch changes early. Your observations are invaluable — please tell us about any behavior or health concerns you’ve noticed.
Senior Pet Wellness
Extra Support for Aging Pets
As your companion enters their golden years, our senior wellness care becomes even more important. Many age-related conditions, such as arthritis, cancer, heart disease, and organ decline, can be managed more effectively when caught early.
We’ll tailor each senior care plan to your pet’s needs and help you understand what to expect based on their breed and size. Cats generally live longer than dogs, and small dogs tend to outlive large breeds.
Our senior care includes:
- Regular wellness exams
- Monitoring for age-related diseases
- Advanced diagnostics and baseline tracking
- Adjusted recommendations for nutrition, mobility, and preventive care
