Lettuce

Millie
Lettuce came into my life when I was 10 years old after I found her and her siblings in a bush. My mom let me keep her, and she has been with me ever since. I was raised in and out of the system until my grandmother took me in at 12, and Lettuce was part of that stability and became my lifelong companion. She was more than a pet she was like an extension of my childhood and my best friend. She had a very talkative personality, especially with her favorite people, and she would make you feel special by constantly “talking” and engaging with you. She also had a sweet, silly side banging her head on the floor and rolling around when she was happy or being called “the prettiest girl at the part.” It’s a quote from the power puff girls. I shared 16 years with her and will always be deeply grateful for the bond we had. She will forever be my sweet, sassy girl. My Lechuga Booga. People always ask me why I named my cat lettuce, but me and my siblings were very young and we just called her a bunch of different things, but every time she would only respond to the word Lettuce, she always knew exactly who she was because she was that girl.
