Frey Pet Hospital maintains a complete in-house pharmacy. We have competitive pricing and the assurance of quality manufactured products. We are able to have medications prescribed and ready for you at the time of your pet’s appointment or generally the same day as requested.

Refills can be requested by calling our hospital at 319-364-7149; it is best if we are given 24-hour notice. The patient must have been examined by our veterinarians within the last 6 months to have refills on any prescription medication. Prescriptions can be picked up from our pharmacy during any of our hours of operation. Click here to see hours.

If your pet is on a long term medication, or has a chronic disease that is being managed by medication, it is important that we monitor blood tests that help us tell how the medication is interacting with your pet’s body, if the dose is still correct, and if there is any progression of the disease. Sometimes more frequent physical exams are needed to monitor the patient’s condition.

We understand you are busy and that internet pharmacies often offer an extra convenience. However, drug manufactures and the FDA have issued serious warnings about the safety and effectiveness of the medications purchased through them. In light of that fact, Frey Pet Hospital has reached a unique agreement with our suppliers to allow clients the convenience and savings of online ordering, with the comfort of knowing the product you are ordering is safe, effective and guaranteed. FDA Warning: Internet Pharmacies Are Fraudulent

“The Food and Drug Administration is warning U.S. consumers that the vast majority of internet pharmacies are fraudulent and likely are selling counterfeit drugs that could harm them. The agency launched a national campaign, called BeSafeRx, to alert the public to the danger, amid evidence that more people are shopping for their medicine online, looking for savings and convenience.”
