Pete Klostermann

By July 28, 2020 Pet Stories
I got Pete when he was 9 months old. He was my “divorce gift to me”. The breeder said that 6 families passed him up because his tail was docked shorter than a Weimaraner’s tail usually is. She said that God was saving him for me. He came into my life and saved me at a time that I needed to be saved. I will always be thankful to him for that. I always joked that it literally took me 6 years to get “the puppy out of him”. But once he matured, Pete went with me everywhere that he was allowed to go. He sat patiently by the salon chair for my hour and half hair appointments and he even accompanied me into the dressing room at TJ Maxx. He was my true companion and was the love of my life. I always told him that the Velveteen Rabbit had nothing on him- his pendulant ears were like velvet to the touch. This pup did anything I wanted; he was so eager to please me. Even at the end, his little tail was wagging for me. His was a love like I have never experienced before from any other animal or human. He left very big paws to be filled. I have so many happy memories of him and will forever be grateful that I had the chance to experience this once in a lifetime love.

I want to thank all of the compassionate staff at Frey Pet Hospital for the care he gave him and the manner in which we helped my baby pass.
