Shelby Schroeder

By April 2, 2018 Pet Stories
On August 22, 2015, we adopted Shelby from Second Chance Dog Rescue in Prole, Iowa after Shelby was surrendered to the rescue in June 2015. Shelby was the oldest dog at the rescue and was the “mother” to all who shared her space. She suffered from severe arthritis and struggled to get around, but her kind, gentle soul pierced through her big, beautiful eyes to where we knew she was meant to be a part of our family. We connected with Zoe’s Pet Deli and Frey Pet Hospital to determine what we could do to help Shelby’s arthritis and give her the best life possible moving forward. In just a month’s time, she was running and playing like a puppy with very limited joint pain. Over the next two years, we spoiled Shelby like the princess she was. She liked taking short walks in the neighborhood, she enjoyed car rides to see family, and she loved eating chicken nuggets more than anyone else on Earth. On October 13, 2017, Shelby crossed rainbow bridge. She was loved by many and she loved all who came into her life. She is gone, but will never be forgotten. We love you, Shelby Roo.
